New Connection Dialog Box of the Integration Wizard — MS Project

Use this dialog box to create a new connection to import data from Microsoft Project.

Field Description
Connection Name Enter a name for the new connection. The connection name must be unique and must not exceed 59 characters.
Connection Properties

Enter the connection properties for the type of configuration you selected.

  • Cobra database — Use this option if Cobra and Microsoft Project use the same database.
    Note: If Cobra and Microsoft Project do not use the same database, you must specify the username and password information of the Windows data source used to connect to the Microsoft Project database.
  • Data source — Use this option to select the Windows data source used to connect to the Microsoft Project database. The drop-down list displays the defined ODBC data sources.
  • User name — Enter the user name required to connect to the selected data source.
  • Password — Enter the password to connect to the selected data source.
  • Connection String — Use this option if you want to use a connection string to connect to the schedule data source. If you enter the password as part of the connection string, Cobra remembers the value and encrypts it when it is saved in the connection file.
    If you want to import from Microsoft Project 2010, no connection is created and saved in the database. You must only define the following field:
    • Microsoft Project 2010, 2013, or 2016 XML file — Click to select the path to the XML file that is generated by Microsoft Project. You may also enter the path type or use UNC to define the location. The path must be accessible to the server in a client/server installation.

      The maximum file size supported for the XML format is 2 GB.

Test Click this button to check that the XML file can be accessed by the server in a client/server environment. This field is enabled only when you select an XML file.
